Business on the golf course

Many suggest golf as a way to earn more business or build relationships. I'm not sure what they're talking about. I played golf with two ER docs and my banker yesterday and had a really great time. At no time did I feel like I was earning business at a higher rate than those cheesy networking meetings. The ones where you walk around with your nametag in red permanent marker watching over-zealous women with too much energy stalk their prey to sell them airbonne or shaklee playsets.

I think 4 and a half hours can be used for golf, or for business...but is it really possible to have both accomplished? I say no

Chris, I guess it depends on what kind of golf course you took them to. If you take them to a putt-putt course then for sure you won't earn more business. Take them to a big boys course and then something may happen.

That's cute, Mark. I thought the spinning wheel house would dazzle them. When they knock it off the clown's nose, I explain to them how subluxations happen.

This time I actually was at a very exclusive (read: expensive) club. It's where they're having the PGA Wyndham this year. I still didn't feel like business could happen. I think were just as likely after 4 hours as they were after a handshake. Couldn't my golf time be used for friends/solo instead of pretending it's business?
